The weather, currently.

It was another day with 90°F readings and lots of humidity and it's going to continue again tomorrow. Look for highs in the low to mid-90s on Monday along with all that humidity. There is a slim chance of a shower and most of us remain dry. The drought continues to be firmly in place in spite of the fact that some folks have had a little bit of rain. On Tuesday it will be hot again but late in the day cooler air for me should slip south along the coastline. Eventually temperatures will fall below 90 and even into the 70s. Humidity will remain high Wednesday and Thursday but temperatures will stay between 75 and 80 in the afternoon and maybe a little bit cooler along the coast.
What you need to know, currently.
The Senate passed the Democrats’ climate, health care and tax package Sunday.
The “vote-a-rama” started Saturday night and ended this afternoon. The final vote was 51-50 with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the tie.
The bill, which is called the Inflation Reduction Act, plans to invest $369 billion into energy and climate change programs, with the goal of reducing carbon emissions by 40% by 2030. This is the largest climate investment in US history.
The bill also includes a plan to lower prescription drug costs, extend the Affordable Care Act program for three years and make the tax code more equitable.
The House is expected to consider it Friday.
