Currently in Boston — August 2nd, 2022
The weather, currently.

Temperatures were actually pretty close to normal today and will fall down into the 60s overnight along with moderate humidity. On Tuesday a frontal system approaches the region with the chance for a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Like so many other systems this summer the bulk of the shower activity will dry up before it reaches the coastline. Temperatures will be in the 80s. Wednesday is a bit hotter with highs 85°F to 88°F. Humidity will be noticeable but not oppressive. Thursday is the hottest day of the stretch as a surge of air brings temperatures near 100°F in the afternoon. There may be a few showers and storms with less heat on Friday before a return to dry weather this weekend.
What you need to know, currently.
For more than a year, Currently has been building a weather service for the climate emergency — and listening to our members to build the kinds of weather and climate services that frontline communities need to stay safe, all while expanding joy and justice amid escalating extreme weather.
We’re looking to expand our real-time weather support services in languages other than English to provide weather alerts everyone can understand. We send custom weather alerts one to two days ahead of potential hazardous extreme weather event. We are also building a text message service that people can use to interact with our meteorologists directly and ask about their weather and how best to prepare.
